Microsoft Word: Introduction to Word Processing
Description: For first time users or beginners, this course covers the basics of word processing using Word. You’ll learn how to create, format and print letters, memos and any almost any other kind of document. Topics include: overview of word processing and document examples; core Word and Office skills (screen overview and navigation, undo, Help, menus, toolbars); creating a new document; saving a document (save, save-as, auto-save); opening a document and recently used files; basic formatting (cut/copy/paste, font and style, line spacing); spell-check; print preview and print.

Learn things like: Creating personal or business letters and other documents; checking and correcting spelling; printing.

Prerequisites: “Introduction to Computers” or equivalent skill level

Microsoft Word: Intermediate Word Processing
Description: For users who have mastered Word basics, this course teaches you how to polish off your documents and use the more advanced features. Topics include: customization (toolbars and menus); advanced formatting (templates, headers/footers, styles, columns, views, lists); working with tables; advanced tools (grammar, thesaurus, find/replace, auto correct, envelopes/labels); images and borders; templates; and drawing tools.

Learn things like: saving time by automatically changing fonts and other format options; creating personalized letters from a mailing list; adding images and logos to documents; creating templates for often used documents.

Prerequisites: “Microsoft Word: Introduction” or equivalent skill leve

Microsoft Word: Advanced Word Processing
Description: For experienced Word users, this course teaches you how to master Word and use the most advanced features. Topics include: advanced settings; macros (recording and editing); collaboration and revision tools; master documents; advanced formatting; fields and references (table of contents, indexes, watermarks); creating and saving web pages.

Learn things like: Automating common tasks; collaborating with others to create and revise documents; create table of contents.

Prerequisites: “Microsoft Word: Intermediate” or equivalent skill level

Word: Headers and Footers, Styles, and Tables

Description: Headers and footers will put standard elements on every page (like automatic page numbering), Styles allow you to re-use your own custom formats, and Tables format lists of information in neat rows and columns.


Word: Mail Merge - Letters, Envelopes and Labels

Description: time saver for your mailings! Learn how to automatically print letters, envelopes and labels from an existing list of names and addresses. Also, import data from Excel or Access to merge into Word.
